Computer Vision Engineer – 3D Reconstruction/Modelling

Ecopia is a unique combination of computer vision and geospatial experts building a revolutionary visual recognition engine for processing geospatial big data. Millions of geospatial images are captured every day by satellites, airplanes, and other vehicles - we’re extracting useful information from the flood of data.

We’re seeking a passionate, talented full stack software engineer to join us at our Toronto office. You will be responsible for further developing Ecopia’s 3D building reconstruction and modelling capabilities to support mining our geospatial big data. Your work will have a direct impact on our end products and will help power the analysis of geospatial big data on a scale never before thought possible. The position is permanent, full-time and will have a salary range of $90,000 ~ $120,000 per year, eligible for stock options, annual salary increases, and bonuses.

  • Work with computer vision teams to develop scalable algorithms to automatically reconstruct and model 3D building environment, and extract 3D building features from multiview geospatial imagery and LiDAR data
  • Work with front-end teams to build scalable annotation platform to collect training data for 3D building reconstruction, modelling, and feature extraction


  • Ph.D. in Computer Vision, Machine learning, Photogrammetry or related field
  • 5+ years programming experience in C / C++
  • 5+ research experience in 3D computer vision, point cloud processing, multiple view geometry, georeferencing, and sensor calibration
  • Strong research track record with 5+ peer-reviewed publications in top academic conferences or journals on 3D building reconstruction and modelling
  • Hands-on experience with developing algorithms for 3D building reconstruction and modelling from multiview imagery and LiDAR at city scale
  • Experience in deep learning is a plus
