
We are seeking a hands-on, proven performer who will be responsible for executing the day-to-day strategies of executive management. Reporting to the President & CEO, this position will be responsible for the day-to-day operating activities of an early stage technology company including operational execution, human resources, financial management and infrastructure & IT. The Vice President Operations will be responsible for ensuring that cost effective operations and infrastructure are in place to support all employees and will ensure that the organization is well positioned in a rapidly evolving and competitive environment by being an agent for ongoing organizational change. The ideal candidate possesses a broad range of experience, strong analytical and organizational skills, and superior communication and interpersonal skills and is looking for the excitement and challenge of an operational role with a growth technology company.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
The Vice President Operations is responsible for managing, overseeing or leading the following areas:
• Responsible for creating an execution plan around the company strategy, ensuring the company strategy is clearly understood by all stakeholders and that the organization is achieving its strategic goals at an optimum pace.
• Establish performance goals, allocate resources and work with management and employees on alignment of goals and objectives with the strategic direction of the business
• Oversee the human resource function within the organization, including but not limited to recruitment and retention, benefits, compensation and incentive plans and employee communications. Be an ambassador for the company, define and promote the company’s employee value proposition, image and brand both internally and externally.
• Ensure appropriate resourcing is in place to meet the growth of the business, making sure the Company has the right resources at the right time prioritized appropriately. Ensure roles are aligned day-to-day to the company strategy, and work with managers to establish action plans and follow up to support.
• Manage financial resources as it relates to operations ensuring expenses and the operating plan come in on budget with responsibility for day-to-day expense, managing budget and cost control of budget set.
• Ensure management of company resources to meet budget and other financial goals
• Participate in short-term and long-range strategic planning and budget development to support strategic business goals
• Oversee the company’s information technology and computing infrastructures, including networks, IT staff, software acquisition, licensing and training to support business growth.
• Develop, establish, and lead execution of operating policies to support overall company policies and objectives as appropriate at various stages of business growth
QUALIFICATIONS:
• 10 – 15+ years experience in a senior operational, financial management or business role, ideally within a fast-paced, entrepreneurially oriented high tech organization
• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or Business
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both oral and written
• Exceptional leadership competencies coupled with a high level of individual performance, an ability to lead a team to do the same, and an ability to support the continued growth of the business
• Superior analytical and technical skills with the ability to apply judgment to evaluate issues and data
• Solid working knowledge of budgeting, sales, business development, and strategic planning
• Strong ability to develop new and effective relationships with internal and external contacts
• A commitment to delivering outstanding customer service
• Willingness to travel occasionally
