Our client is currently seeking one UI Web Developer. This is a very unique and exciting opportunity to be part of the initial launch of a new online user experience that does not exist in the marketplace today. We are seeking a very energetic individual with strong UI web development skills that thrives in a very fast paced and changing environment.
This is a permanent opportunity to begin in August 2010 in the Greater Toronto Area.

Primary roles and responsibilities include the following:

• The focus of the role will be to take “basic” .aspx pages produced by developers and working with a creative designer, enhance the user experience using a combination of XHTML, CSS, and JavaScript. This includes: coding, testing, debugging and integration.
• Integrate Telerik ASPX/AJAX controls into the web site.
• Participate in usability reviews and user testing of the .aspx pages and web site.
• Identify back-end functionality requirements for developers based on input from the creative designer.
• Identify bugs/issues with the “basic” .aspx pages produced by the developers.
• Participate in root cause analysis of problems and provide support to the resolution process.

Essential Technical Skills:

• XHTML, CSS and JavaScript – focus on client side presentation and user experience
• Cutting and optimizing graphics for web applications
• Cross-browser compatibility

Soft Skills:

• Highly disciplined, results oriented, excellent work ethic / attitude
• Effective communicator with both technical and non-technical resources
• Excellent at setting and maintaining expectations

Experience:

• 3-5 years developing web application user interfaces – social networking interfaces an asset
• 2+ years using Visual Studio and the MS .NET Framework Version 3.5 or 4.0
• 2+ years using Flash
• Working in an Agile (rapid application development) project environment
• Working with creative designers – the creative designer will specify fonts, colors, and graphics etc. that need to be included in the .aspx page.
• Working with web application developers – the developers will be responsible for managing the code behind files and generating the initial “basic” .aspx page.
• Implementing pixel-perfect layouts from creative compositions

Other Desirable Experience:

• Telerik ASPX/AJAX controls Q3 2009 release or later - including creating custom skins
• Telerik Reporting Q3 2009 release or later – formatting and layout
• Working with different mobile application platforms (Apple, Blackberry, Android, etc.)
