
GridCentric is a Toronto-based software start-up that is commercializing award-winning research from the Systems Lab at the University of Toronto. The Branham Group has selected them as one of Canada's top 25 ICT up-and-comers for 2010, they are funded by Rogers Ventures, and they are a MaRS high-potential client company. The technology they are commercializing makes it possible to re-provision dozens or hundreds of computer servers in a matter of seconds, using a combination of virtualization and grid computing technologies. They have a product released in the High Performance Computing space and are beginning to explore applications for their technology in the Enterprise.
About the internship:
GridCentric is looking for a goal-driven business development intern to participate and drive the following objectives forward:
- Lead generation for existing High Performance Computing product
- Development of lead qualification scripts
- Scheduling meetings with qualified leads
- Customer development (a la Steve Blank) for future Enterprise product, including identifying, interviewing, and collating feedback from early adopters
This is a growth opportunity for an individual with energy, confidence, and the ability to sell themselves to get in on the ground floor of one of Canada's next great high-technology companies.

- Ability to cold-call and convince a total stranger that you have something of value to offer them.
